Development Charges

Background

Council of The Corporation of The Town of Ajax passed Development Charge By-law No. 115-2003 on September 8, 2003, under Section 12 of the Development Charges Act, 1997. 

Changes/Adjustments

Under Section 17 of By-law 115-2003, development charges shall be indexed and revised annually, commencing September 30th, 2004 and each September 30 thereafter. 

Payment

Charges for residential and non-residential development are payable at the time of building permit issuance. Charges are calculated and payable at the rate in effect when payment is due.

2008 Development Charge Background Study

The Town of Ajax has begun the 2008 Development Charge Background Study. An Information Session will be held on May 13, 2008, from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m., at the Ajax Public Library (Rotary Room) located 55 Harwood Ave. S. The purpose of the meeting is to provide information on the study's preliminary findings.
