Self-service Renewals
Avoid unnecessary late charges by renewing your materials from your home or office. The Library’s self-service renewal options are quick and convenient. Two renewals are allowed. Renewals are not permitted on items someone has requested.
Renewal Options
Two self-service renewal options are available for your convenience: Renew your material via the Internet by logging into your account within the Library catalogue
or
Renew your material via the telephone with our convenient ATAM service.
Note: Renewals must be made by midnight of the due date to avoid late charges.
How to Renew Material via the Library Catalogue
You can use the library's online catalogue to find books, DVDs, magazines, compact discs and more. You can also place and cancel holds, renew items, and check information on your library account.
You can access the catalogue from any Internet enabled computer that has web browser software.
- To renew material click on "Search the Cataloque".
- Click on "My Account" and login with the required information.
- From the "Account Overview" screen click on "Items Out".
- You will see a list of the items checked out to your account.
- Select the items you want to renew from the list and click on the "Renew" button.
- The next screen displays the new due dates for items that can be renewed.
How to Renew Material via Ajax Telephone Automated Messaging
ATAM is a Telephone Renewal & Notification Service available through your touch tone phone. The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Using a touch tone phone, phone 905-686-CIRC (2472) to:
Listen to the instructions and have your library card ready (you will be required to enter the barcode from your library card and PIN - usually the last four digits of your phone number).
The ATAM service also provides hold and overdue notification. You will receive a recorded telephone call to notify you of items being held for pick-up and overdue material.
