Juried Art ShowThe 9th Annual Juried Art Show at the McLean Community Centre (MCC) introduced artists from Uxbridge to Baltimore, Ontario to the community. The Exhibition, in partnership with the Town of Ajax, is part of PineRidge Arts Council's "Art in Public Places" program.
Daniel Colby, an Uxbridge artist, won the coveted Best in Show for his "Adli Twice" and walked away with $1,000. He has been painting seriously for about seven years and it is evident that oil on canvas is his favourite medium. Daniel also explores digital art and screen printing and would like to someday learn printmaking.
Linda Jansma, Curator of The Robert McLaughlin Gallery in Oshawa, had a tough job to select only 62 pieces out of the 180 entered. Thanks to her expertise, she has put together a vibrant show.
