Mayor Steve Parish, members of council and Michael Angemeer, President & CEO of Veridian Corporation, will unveil an EcoSchool greening project at Lakeside Public School.

Veridian Corporation was approached by Lakeside P.S. for the sponsorship of 10 caliper trees to assist in the school’s ground greening - and important step in the EcoSchool process. The Town of Ajax assisted with the selection and planting of the trees.
This project will assist Lakeside P.S. in achieving their goal of becoming a gold-level certified EcoSchool. The pillars of the EcoSchools program are energy conservation, school ground greening, waste management, and ecological literacy.
Student success - in both academics and positive contributions to society - is the focus of Ontario EcoSchools. The program aims to influence young people during a formative period of life, and make a significant impact as children take a culture of conservation home with them.
