Running the Ajax Waterfront 

The Town of Ajax takes great pride in its waterfront - six kilometers of unspoiled park land stretching across the Town's southern border along the shores of Lake Ontario. This land, totaling over 150 acres, is used by residents and visitors who come to enjoy the scenic views, engage in recreational activities in the open spaces, and utilize the multi-use trail for a number of purposes. The asphalt trail, which is over four kilometers in length, is part of the Waterfront Trail that runs from Hamilton to Belleville. Participants of the Town's half marathon (21.1 km) will experience first-hand why the waterfront is often referred to as "the jewel of the south".

2009 Event

The 2nd annual Waterfront Half Marathon was held on Sunday, October 25, 2009 at Rotary Park. Participants experienced the best undeveloped stretch of waterfront trails along Lake Ontario. The marathon made its way through neighbourhoods and along the Town’s picturesque waterfront.
