Pat Brown

Councillor Brown

Pat Brown has lived in Ajax since 1958. She has two sons and is the proud grandmother of four grandchildren. She has been a Member of Ajax Council since 1991, representing residents of Ward 4.

In addition to her Council duties, Pat has been very involved in the community for many years. She served as President of Ajax Municipal Housing, President of the United Way, Treasurer of Big Brothers of Ajax & Pickering, was a founding member of ACT (Ajax Citizens Together), and was a key organizer in planning the many "Teen Town" Reunions.

Pat is very passionate about the history of the Town of Ajax and has not only hosted many HMS Ajax related visitors to the Town but also served as Chair of the Town volunteer committees that coordinated the 60th and 70th Anniversary Reunions of the HMS Ajax & River Plate Veterans Association held respectively in 1999 and 2009. These celebrations recognized the Anniversary of the Battle of the River Plate which occurred in December 1939, and which led to the naming of the Town after HMS Ajax when the Defence Industries Limited plant ceased operation following the end of WW2.

Pat currently sits on the Board of Directors for Veridian Corporation and Ajax Municipal Housing Corporation as a representative of the Town of Ajax. In March of 2010 she joined the organizing committee of the annual Ajax & Pickering Mayors' Charity Golf event which raises funds for the Rouge Valley Ajax & Pickering Hospital.
