Colleen Jordan

Councillor Jordan

Colleen was elected Regional Councillor for Ajax Wards 3 & 4 in 2003 and re-elected in 2006 for a four year term. She received the largest percentage of votes for any Council member. As a Regional Councillor, she also sits on Ajax Council.

Between 1997 and 2000, Jordan served as local Ward 3 Councillor in Ajax.  Prior to her election to Ajax Council in 1997, Colleen served as a trustee with Durham's public school board since 1991.

Until her election in 2003, she was also the successful Executive Director of the Community Development Council of Durham (formerly Social Development Council of Ajax-Pickering), an important non-profit social service agency which lends support to immigrant settlement, child nutrition, affordable housing and other agencies throughout Durham Region.

Colleen holds a Bachelor of Arts (Sociology major) from the University of Toronto. 

Her private business experience includes a stint as a Research Officer and Foreign Exchange Trader with the International Banking Centre of the Royal Bank in Montreal and Toronto.

Jordan's four children - Tracy, Bobby, Jenny and Jackie were all raised in Ajax and graduated from Ajax schools.  They are all now employed after graduating from Durham College, UOIT, University of Toronto and Carleton University. Colleen enjoys spending free time with her five grandchildren.

Colleen lives in South Ajax.
