Scott Crawford

Scott Crawford grew up in Scarborough and attended Buchannan Public School and Wexford Collegiate Institute. Playing music has always been Scott's "first love". He continues to play and write music today. He is the father of three children: Melody (deceased 2001), Ashley and Christopher. Scott was first introduced to the voters of Ajax in 1985, when at the age of 25, he challenged Bill McLean for the office of Mayor. Although he was unsuccessful, he took 24 per cent of the vote. Scott was first elected to Ajax Council in 1988 and has been a member of Council ever since. He served as Councillor, Ward 2 from 1988 to 1997 and is currently service as the Regional Councillor, Wards 1 & 2 since he was elected in 1997. Scott is the longest service member of Ajax Council with 22 years of service.
He sits on the Town's Accessibility Advisory and is Vice-Chair of the Library Board. Regional Councillor Crawford is a member of the Regional Works Committee, the Durham Region Transit Executive Committee and was previously a member of the York/Durham Joint Waste Management Committee.
Scott is the proud Grandpa of Drake Forrest Anthony Crawford. |
