AFES in the CommunityAjax Fire and Emergency Services is proud to be active within our community. In addition to local events, we have a number of teams and groups that are active in representing our service across the Province.
August 2007 - Repatriation Procession - CFB Trenton to Toronto

Fire and Emergency Services personnel, along with many residents, pay tribute from the Harwood Avenue overpass as the bodies of fallen Canadian Soldiers are transported along Highway 401 from CFB Trenton to Toronto.
Ajax Fire Fighters Hockey Team
Many of our members play on the hockey team. Our team plays both in recreational and competitive games across the Province.
Ajax Fire Fighters "Combat Challenge" Team

Some of our members have competed in this excruciating competition both locally and Nationally.
Auto Extrication Team
Our award winning auto-ex team competes both locally and Nationally!

Colour Guard
Our Colour Guard represents the department in a variety of formal settings including parades, funerals and other special events.

They "troop the colours" whenever possible, showing local, provincial and Canadian flags, along with the US flag to show solidarity.
Charity Car Wash - August 2007

Working in partnership with the Ajax Professional Fire Fighters Association, over $2,000 was raised at this car wash for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. In addition to raising funds for charity, our crews use these opportunities to educate the public on fire safety. In cooperation with our Fire Prevention staff, each resident that moves through the car wash was provided with fire safety literature, making these charity events excellent public fire safety education opportunities as well.

Tim Hortons Camp Day - June 2008
Members of Ajax Fire and Emergency Services were happy to lend their support at Tim Hortons Camp Day in June 2008.

Working along side local Tim Hortons staff, our crews staffed both the store front and the drive through to help Tim Hortons raise money to send over 9,000 kids, who could otherwise not afford it, on the camping adventure of a lifetime.

For more information on these or any other special teams, groups or events, contact the Deputy Fire Chief by E-Mail.
