Fire and Emergency Services Fleet

Aerial One

Aerial One is a 23 metre (75 foot) Aerial Ladder built on a Spartan Gladiator tandem axle chassis.  Delivered in 2000, Aerial One was supplied by Safetek Emergency Vehicles and was built by Smeal Fire Apparatus.  It features a 7000 litre per minute Hale fire pump with automatic foam system, PTO-driven generator and a command light tower. 

Aerial Two

Aerial Two is a 32 metre (105 foot) Aerial Ladder built on a Spartan Gladiator tandem axle chassis.   Delivered in 2006, Aerial Two was supplied by Safetek Emergency Vehicles and was built by Smeal Fire Apparatus.  It features a 7000 litre per minute Hale fire pump with automatic foam system, PTO-driven 15,000 watt generator and a command light tower.  Aerial Two is capable of discharging over 4500 litres of water per minute from the master stream on the aerial ladder. 

Rescue Three

Rescue Three is a custom Special Operations truck that is built on an International 4900, four door, single axle chassis.  Delivered in 1999, Rescue Three was supplied by Safetek Emergency Vehicles and was built by SVI Trucks.  Rescue Three contains various special operations equipment including rehabilitation supplies and additional ice/water rescue equipment.  A large Command Light Tower is located on the top of the truck, enabling crews to light emergency scenes during night operations.  This truck also contains a mobile breathing air filling station to allow for the filling of self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) cylinders on an emergency scene and a large PTO-driven generator.

Pump Four

Pump Four is a custom pumper-rescue that is built on a Spartan Metro-Star single axle chassis.  Delivered in 2002, Pump Four was supplied by Safetek Emergency Vehicles and was built by Smeal Fire Apparatus and SVI Trucks.  It features a 7000 litre per minute Hale pump with class "A" and "B" foam proportioning system, onboard hydraulic generator, full heavy hydraulic rescue tool system and a command light tower.  This custom apparatus was designed and built to offer superior performance at all types of emergency scenes including fire, medical and rescue situations.

Pump Seven is a pumper-rescue that is built on a Freightliner FL-80, four door single axle chassis.  Delivered in 1995, Pump Seven was supplied by Almonte Fire Trucks.  Pump Seven features a 5000 litre per minute Hale fire pump. 

Tanker Eight

Tanker Eight is a pumper-tanker that is built on a PemFab Imperial tandem axle chassis.  Delivered in 1994, Tanker Eight was supplied by Almonte Fire Trucks.  Tanker Eight features a 5000 litre per minute Hale fire pump and an onboard 9080 litre water tank.  Tanker Eight provides mobile water transport to areas with limited or no hydrant water supply.

Pump Ten is built on a Spartan Metro-Star single axle chassis.  Placed into service in November 2007, Pump ten was supplied by Safetek Emergency Vehicles and was built by Smeal Fire Apparatus and SVI Trucks.  It features a 7000 litre per minute Hale pump with class "A" and "B" foam proportioning system, onboard hydraulic generator, full heavy hydraulic rescue tool system and a command light tower.  This custom apparatus was designed and built to offer superior performance at all types of emergency scenes including fire, medical and rescue situations.

 

Car Five

Car Five is a custom command vehicle that is built on a 2005 Tahoe 4x4 SUV chassis.  Car 5 was upfitted and configured by Kerr Industries.  This vehicle is operated by the on-duty Platoon Chief and provides mobile command post functionality.

The vehicle features a mobile incident command workstation, additional radio capabilities, computer based incident management system and mobile personnel accountability system resources.  It also contains a mobile radio repeater system which provides for enhanced radio communications on emergency scenes.

Sparky Goes Green

Fire and Emergency Services proudly placed the first hybrid sedan into service in April, 2008.  In addition to being part of the Town of Ajax's Green Fleet Initiative, the graphics package on the car includes some important fire safety messages.  Click here for additional information on the Town of Ajax Green Fleet Initiative.
