Legislative and Information Services

The Legislative and Information Services Department is dedicated to serving our customers in a friendly, professional, and effective manner. Our skilled and adaptable staff team incorporates our customers' needs and preferences into the continual enhancement of the services we provide. We embrace the role of technology as a critical tool in improving the convenient delivery of information and services.

Legislative Services

• provides support and secretarial services to Council and Committees and various Citizen Advisory Committees including the production and preparation of agendas, notices of meetings, minutes and correspondence
• oversees the management and co-ordination of the Town's records and archives, including the peparation of responses to requests made under the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act
• administers municipal elections, acts as the local registrar for birth and death registrations and provides Commissioner of Oaths services to the public

Bylaw Services 

• staff respond to complaints relating to violations of the Town’s Bylaws, including Property Standards, Trade Licensing, and the Traffic Bylaw
• Animal Services

Information Technology Services

• responsible for providing the delivery of business applications, desktop support, technology infrastructure, network communications and telephone services
• supports staff of the Town of Ajax in their efforts to provide effective public services and maintain efficient government operations through appropriate and innovative application of information technologies
