Renovations and Additions to Existing Buildings

  • The estimated construction value (to be checked against the TACBOC valuation)
  • A completed Building Permit application form (indicating the year in which the building was constructed)
  • The Building Permit Fee pursuant to Building Bylaw 29-97, Schedule A, Part B, item 12
  • Four copies of a SITE PLAN/SURVEY showing the location of the building and location of the exterior door
  • Four copies of a fully dimensioned CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS including:
    • existing and proposed construction
    • all exits
    • wall and ceiling design
    • UNPROTECTED OPENING calculations (if added any new windows)
  • Three copies of the HEAT LOSS calculations and DUCT LAYOUT(required when additional space is to be utilized)
  • A completed Other Approvals Form (where necessary)
  • A completed Durham Region Health Department Application if the subject building is connected to or adjacent to a Septic System
