New Industiral, Commercial, Institutional and High Density Residential Buildings and Additions

  • The estimated construction value (to be checked against the TACBOC valuation)
  • A completed Building Permit application form.
  • The Building Permit Fee pursuant to Building Bylaw 29-97, Schedule A, Part B, item 1 - 3 & 4 - 8 
  • A completed Town of Ajax Non-Residential Development Charge Information Form
  • A completed Education Development Charge Information Form
  • A completed Region of Durham Commercial Development Charge Information Form
  • Four copies of the Site Plan and Site Servicing
  • A completed Carruthers Creek Area Specific Development Charge Form (if applicable)
  • Four copies of Structural Drawings, bearing the signed seal of a P. Eng./Architect (see OBC 2.3.1.A.)
  • Four copies of Electrical Drawings, bearing the signed seal of a P. Eng./Architect (see OBC 2.3.1.A.)
  • Four copies of Mechanical/Sprinkler Drawings, bearing the signed seal of a P. Eng/Architect (see OBC 2.3.1.A)
  • Four copies of the Elevation Drawings
  • Four copies of the Mechanical Site Plan, (where applicable)
  • Four copies of fully dimensioned CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS including:
    • the signed seal of the Architect
    • With a cover page or title block
    • size of proposed building
    • type of construction (combustible or non-combustible)
    • sprinklered or not
    • fire alarm system or not
    • the section of the OBC reviewed under
    • north arrow, scale, legend of symbols
    • the nature of the occupancy
    • the project identity (name, address, unit #, etc)
  • Completed Confirmation of Commitment by Owner and Field Review Forms must be returned to this office prior to issuance
  • A completed Other Approvals Form (where necessary)
  • A completed confirmation of Energy Efficient Design Form
  • Durham Regional Health Services stamped approval for "Food Handling" occupancy prior to the issuance of a permit
  • MOH and/or MOL approval for the installation of X-Ray equipment
  • A completed Durham Region Health Department Application if the proposed structure is connected to or adjacent to a Septic System
  • Soil Investigation report.
  • Environmental Study report.

Separate permit for site servicing, retaining walls and/or signs may be required.
