Interior Alterations for Industrial, Commercial, Institutional and High Density Residential
- The estimated construction value (to be checked against the TACBOC valuation)
- A completed Building Permit application form
- The Building Permit Fee pursuant to Building Bylaw 29-97, Schedule A, Part B, item #8 or # 12
- Four copies of a fully dimensioned CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS including:
- the existing and proposed construction
- all exits
- washroom facilities
- wall and ceiling design
- information to show if the building has sprinkler and/or fire alarm systems
- Four copies of a KEY FLOOR PLAN showing the existing (or last) use of adjacent spaces, all public corridors and exits
- Four copies of a SITE PLAN or SURVEY showing the location of the unit and/or the area to be occupied, parking, etc.
- Four copies of MECHANICAL (plumbing, sprinkler, heating) and heat loss calculations, if applicable
- Four copies of ELECTRICAL drawings including exit signs and emergency lighting
All drawings must bear the signed and dated seal of a professional engineer or architect, when required by Section 2.3 of the Ontario Building Code.
- Two copies of a letter that describes in detail the proposed business operation, identifies all combustible items stored on the premises and the quantities
- A completed Other Approvals Form (where necessary)
- Durham Regional Health Services stamped approval for "Food Handling" occupancy prior to the issuance of a permit
- MOH and/or MOL approval for the installation of X-Ray equipment
- A completed Durham Region Health Department Application if the subject building is connected to or adjacent to a Septic System
