Part-Time & Seasonal Positions

Provide administrative support and back-up to the Office of the CAO, Mayor and Members of Council which when necessary, includes fulfilling duties of both Administrative Co-ordinators.  This position will also:

• Provide functional advice to the general public by phone or in person, ensuring all information provided is accurate and communicated in a timely fashion
• Answer enquiries and complaints, greet visitors and assisting the public to ensure that excellent customer service is provided in the offices of the Mayor and CAO
• Assist with the development and execution of special projects and corporate events

• Performs all custodial tasks and general repairs
• Removes snow and ice from exterior walkways during winter months
• Performs all duties associated with the operation of an arena including operatingan ice resurfacer, refrigeration plant, etc
• Paints dressing rooms, lobbies, washrooms and other areas of the facility
• Supervises part time rink attendants and skating attendants
• Provides courteous customer service
• Set up meeting and banquet layouts
• Completes logs and reports
• Ensures the security of the building by locking interior and exterior doors as required
• Involves shift work including evenings and weekends

$14.45 per hour (Part time employees may work to a max of 24 hours a week.)

• Responsible for cash float and all money collected during shift
• Serve all customers in a friendly and courteous manner
• Abide by all Town of Ajax Policies and Procedures, and to act in a professional manner at all times
• Ensure that the Snack Bar is opened and ready to conduct business for all advertised hours
• Complete a cash report and inventory control at the completion of every shift
• Re-stock inventory at the completion of the shift
• Assist in general facility clean-up outside the Snack Bar

$8.75 per hour (Part time employees may work to a max of 24 hours a week.)

• Develop and implement a safe enjoyable dance program under the supervision of the Recreation Supervisor
• Ensure the safety and well-being of your assigned class
• Abide by the Town of Ajax policies and act in a professional manner at all times
• Ensure effective public relations, and problem solve as necessary
• Take appropriate action to deal with incidents, problems and emergencies, as outlined in the departmental policies and procedures
• Perform administrative tasks necessary to support the program
• Assist in the developmental and implementation of special needs programming in conjunction with the Integration Coordinator
• Implement a weekly program plan for the specific dance program being taught in accordance with the Recreation Supervisor
