Golf Courses

The Town of Ajax is fortunate to be home to five golf courses:

  • Carruthers Creek Golf Course
  • Annandale Golf and Curling Club
  • Deer Creek Golf and Banquet Facility
  • Fox Run Golf Centre
  • Riverside Golf Course

Lake Ontario Waterfront

The beauty of the Lake Ontario Waterfront is showcased by an unspoiled waterfront trail that crosses the Town. Rotary Park is located at the west end of the waterfront trail offering a unique setting at the foot of Carruthers Creek. The Harwood Point Gardens is located at approximately the centre of the waterfront, it is a focal point that creates an impressive memorial for the HMS Ajax.

Conservation Area

The Greenwood Conservation Area is located in the northern portion of the Town providing a quick get away into the countryside.

Shopping

A wide variety of shopping destinations are available in the Town of Ajax.

  • The Durham Centre located on Highway 2 offers close to 1 million square feet of shopping in a large scale power centre format. Some of the key stores in the Centre include: Costco, Walmart, Zellers, Home Depot, Chapters, Loblaws, Future Shop, Danier Leather and many more.
  • Pickering Village offers a unique shopping experience for those looking for a historic shopping environment. Numerous shops, specialty boutiques and gourmet restaurants provide a wide selection of goods and services.

Entertainment & Sports

  • The Slots at Ajax Downs is the newest gaming facility in Ontario
  • Ajax Downs is the Province’s only quarter horse race track
  • Southwind Equestrian Centre
  • Cineplex Odeon is located on Highway 2 and offers 10 cinemas for movie goers
